An Update

Upon previous post, the following events have occurred:

School. I really like how this semester is going. All-in-all (whatever that phrase actually is/means), my professors have been very straight-forward; the homework level is challenging but tolerable; my schedule itself has been manageable, to say the least; and Ben and I are conducting wonderfully productive study dates. I like most everything and most of my classes. At the very least, I'm sure learning a lot. Like, did you know the Mongolian Empire used to stretch from Finland to Vietnam? Or that "Utopia" is Greek for "nowhere"? I love learning! Sarah (my genius-friend, Sarah) and I used to always joke that we'd marry rich just so we could go to school forever. I'm still okay with that plan.

Volleyball. I joined an intramural volleyball team this semester, mostly because my roommate duped me into it. Turns out, I really love playing volleyball, and I'm only sad we lost every game because that meant the season had to be over sooner. We weren't terrible; just a little more out of practice than everyone else. Maybe I'll take up running again and fall in love with that all over again.

Haircut. Six inches; I don't know why.

(and yes, in case you're wondering, i am going through my planner to recap the last month or so. and what.)

Work. We--that is, the other secretaries and I--have finally caught up on all of our projects from the summer. I'm really stoked about it! It's good to feel productive. And Brooke is pregnant, just like I always knew she was; so that's exciting, too. And Miranda recently discovered we were the same age and had a little freakout moment: a little entertaining, and a little weird.

Ben. Ben is great. He just gets greater and greater as time goes on. We hiked the Y on Saturday, which seemed like a really good idea when we planned it. First, I forgot it was Homecoming Week, so I didn't plan on the whole cheesiness factor. Second, the plan was to do it before it got too cold; conveniently, it was snowing in the mountains that morning. But we started to climb, nonetheless, and after the first .07 miles, I wasn't about to turn back (I mean, we'd already gone so far). So we pressed on. Children and grandparents passed us up, and then passed us down. But we persevered, and by the time we got to the Y, the snow had stopped, the clouds had cleared, and we could see for miles and miles of Provo and heard music from the Homecoming Parade below. It was one of those really great moments in life that I'll cherish forever, but never want to do again.

This Week. So this week has been basically amazing. I got all caught up on my homework over the weekend, so I have very little to do this week. I did all of my laundry at my mom's last night. Our apartment is still relatively clean from checks on Saturday. I got to do some serious Facebooking communication with Robin (long overdue). And, this Friday, I'm making red beans & rice and going to the volleyball game against Utah.

I'm happy. I'm content. But I still miss my friends. So I'm not quite perfect.

Hey dawg! You are so funny. I am sitting at the kitchen table, Sunday morning, eating my toast and giggling at your post! I loved seeing you on Friday, what a treat! You are such a good friend and a good person, so amazingly talented and bright...Ben is a lucky man! I'm glad to hear things are going so well in that aspect of your life. Love you K!

I like you. And I'd like you to know that yours is one of the few blogs I like reading even if it doesn't have pictures. I may have mentioned this before, but it still holds true :) You are charming, and I miss you.
